Bagatelle’s contemporary French cuisine finds its roots on two continents. Our Chefs grew up in Normandy, Alsace, Brittany and began cooking in local restaurants at a young age, before moving on to work under such visionaries as Laurent Gras, Alain Ducasse, Troigros, Daniel Boulud or Geoffrey Zakarian in Manhattan.
Bagatelle Miami Beach Executive Chef Matthieu Godard began his career spending several years gaining experience in Club Mediterranée. Later, Godard traveled to Spain to join the team of Chef Ramon Freixa in Marbella.
In 2006 Chef Godard moved to New York City and began a seven year stint working with world renowned Chef Daniel Boulud. During his time under Chef Boulud in New York, Chef Godard had the opportunities to work at both at Bistro Moderne and the prestigious three Michelin starred restaurant, Daniel. He later went on to helm the kitchen at Bistro Moderne Miami. When Bagatelle opened it’s Miami Beach outpost, Chef Matthieu Godard was the perfect fit to preside over the kitchen.
